Picturing Health represents a very special initiative for ViewPoint Gallery. Developed in partnership with the Robert Pope Foundation, the project offered an opportunity to use photographic imagery to explore the complex relationship between wellness and creativity.

Picturing Health was designed as a group show of independent photographers exploring the complex and multi-faceted dynamic between wellness and creativity from a wide range of individual perspectives, experiences, and points of view. ViewPoint issued a Call for Submissions to Nova Scotian photographers in the spring of 2017. The submissions were diverse, innovative, and insightful. It was not an easy task for the jury to narrow down the submissions to just 10 photographers.

We believe that the resulting exhibit provides an open-ended, multi-lateral conversation on a complicated, intense, and highly personal subject. ViewPoint Gallery is proud to be part of the conversation.

PARTICIPATING PHOTOGRAPHERS:
Barb Blakey, Angela Creaser, Debbie Currie, Hannah Grace, Jordan Haines, Sara Harley, DeeDee Morris, Katelyn Neville, Stephen Phillips, Roxanne Smith
