2019 Summer Youth Camp at ViewPoint Gallery
August 12-16. 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
ViewPoint Gallery is pleased to announce that we are offering a youth photography camp for students enrolled in Junior High and Secondary Schools. Participant will develop a better understanding of photography through hand on experience. The camp will explore a variety of photographic styles, such as portraiture, landscape, street photography, and more. The camp will build awareness about the photographic elements such as light, line, colour and composition. They will also learn about the history of photography, early and contemporary photographers.
Each day there will be something new to learn. There will be daily time to explore Halifax as a group and see interesting subjects to photograph. At the end of each day there will be time for group discussions and critiques. Each participant can expect to produce at least 5 images that will be printed from the large format printer at the Gallery. Selected images will be installed for a one-evening exhibition and reception at the Gallery following the end of the camp.
