Stephen DesRoches

"Setting Day Parade" by Stephan DesRoches
From nearby Prince Edward Island, Stephen DesRoches has worked as a full-time creative professional since 2002, building a career spanning photography and design. When not exploring the outdoors with a camera, he is a director of product design for a photography-focused search engine.
Originally wanting to become a painter, Stephen traded brushes and paint for lenses and printer ink more than twenty years ago. Photography became his canvas, ink his medium, and the world his inspiration. While the tools have changed, the motivation has remained the same: to create visual work that connects people with a place, a moment, or a story.
Prince Edward Island’s landscapes and wildlife remain his primary subjects, and much of his published work is associated with tourism. Beyond the Island, he regularly travels for photography, and his portfolio includes images from many commercial expeditions across the Arctic and Antarctica, reflecting his fascination with remote environments and love for ice-covered landscapes.
A longtime follower of ViewPoint Gallery, Stephen is happy to contribute remotely from across the bridge.
