Philosophy
Seeing isn't the same as looking. Looking gives you the overview - it provides the big picture. Seeing draws you in, shows you the details - those little things that make the something you're viewing what it is - provides the inside story. Looking long enough with intent can lead to seeing. I love the details.

Style
I love COLOUR. I'm drawn to it like a moth to a light. I search for it in my photographs. After I take a photograph I go "colour mining" in the image to extract and emphasize the colour that is often buried within.

Technique
I use Nikon camera equipment and an Epson flat bed scanner for my digital captures. Images are then redefined using software appropriate for the desired outcome.

Background

I'm a Nova Scotian, born and raised. I've lived here most of my life and wouldn't have it any other way. I was a professional commercial photographer for more than 30 years. I now concentrate my efforts on making limited edition fine art photographs.
