URBAN REMNANTS
Photography by Heather Rose
Exhibition: March 6-30, 2025
Opening reception: Thursday, March, 6-8 pm
Artist Talk: Sunday, March 16, 2-3pm
Rome surrounds you with ancient history, crumbling historic sites and renaissance art. The opulence and beauty of marble, frescoes, oils, mosaics, and stained glass overwhelm you. However, there is another Rome to explore, a Rome of contemporary “art of the common people”.
What do these urban remnants say about contemporary society, about us? Whose works are they? Why were they painted or posted? What stories do they tell? Are they some of the important artifacts of our time? These are the questions at the heart of this photo essay.
