Flowers are one of the most common photographic subjects – inherently beautiful, brilliantly colourful, and multitudinous. Most photographers have turned their lens towards a flower at one time or other, and as a result, it is challenging to show them in a new way. In Frozen Light Eric Boutilier-Brown strives to renew the viewer’s sensitivity to the beauty of flowers by changing the way they are viewed; the suspension of the flowers in water and their subsequent freezing shifts them from the familiar to the magical, and restores the marvelous in the commonplace.

In September 2010 ViewPoint Gallery will host a guest exhibition titled Behind the Scenes. The exhibition will feature images captured behind the scenes on film sets. Local and international photographers are invited to submit up to 5 images of work, a detailed image list, artist statement and current CV by email to behindthescenes2010@gmail.com
